Soundings Connect Speaks at SITE Global Meetings Industry Day 2019

SITE’s Southern California chapter celebrated Global Meetings Industry Day with SoCal incentive travel professionals, event planners, meeting professionals, hoteliers, DMCs, travel directors, suppliers, sponsors, and.

The primary education session was led by Tracy Judge, Chief Connector and Founder of Soundings Connect. Speaking on Data Driven Event Design as part of the San Diego State University Senior Professional Master’s Series, she pointed out how data is more than a collection of numbers. In fact, there are two types of data:

Quantitative: The typical numerical information usually found in pie charts, averages, and score cards

Qualitative: A gauge of feelings, which and can be defined with word clouds, sediment mapping and Venn diagrams.

Tracy proved that gaining a deeper understanding of the different types of data and learning how each can be leveraged will empower meeting planners with decision making strategies for corporate meetings and events.

At the end of the session, Tracy put the room’s new knowledge to work with a Data Driven Decision Making Matrix, a guide that organizes goals, tools, objectives and actions based on data.

If you’d like a walkthrough of this powerful document, get in touch. We’d love to help your next meeting thrive through data driven event design.
